Overview

ACE Designers began in 1979 as a machine tool design service company and built its first manufacturing plant in 1982. It introduced the Jobber CNC lathe in 1998. Ace Manufacturing Systems (founded 1994, VMC and HMC maker) and Micromatic Machine Tools (sales and service, founded 1987) have since been amalgamated into Ace Designers Limited, in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

The product range is organised into a Turning division and a Machining Centre division, with a Marketing & Service division behind them. Turning products include 2-axis horizontal lathes, vertical lathes, turn-mill centres, twin-spindle machines, sliding-head automats and automation solutions. Milling products include drill-tap centres, vertical, twin-spindle, 5-axis, double-column and horizontal machining centres.

The company lists application sectors including die and mould, gear, electronics, automobile, locomotive, energy, and pumps and motors. Its service offering is branded Micromatic 360 and covers maintenance contracts, spares and kits, and calibration.
