Overview
Ansco began in 1939 as Ando Iron Works. It makes precision fastening parts, mainly hex socket cap screws (SCM435 and SUSXM7 stainless) and hex socket set screws. These are used in automotive, machine tool and semiconductor applications. The company offers proposal, prototyping and volume production, and also takes special-shape orders such as long cap screws and machined items.
Production is in-house, from cold heading and machining through thread rolling, heat treatment and packing. Heat-treatment equipment is installed at both the Aichi and Saga plants. Ansco also applies anti-loosening treatments to screws: a reusable nylon type (under a licence agreement with US-based ND) and a pre-applied micro-capsule adhesive type.
The head office and plant are in Seto, Aichi. A second plant is in Arita, Saga (Kyushu), and a subsidiary plant, ANSCO (THAILAND) CO., LTD., is in Chonburi, Thailand. The company reports 120 employees. In October 2022 it became the first screw maker in Japan to receive SBT certification.
