Overview

Giri Brothers began on 22 February 1973 as a dealer in mechanical weighing machines. It started making counter weighing machines in 1975 and electronic weighing machines in 1979. Its Giritronics production unit was set up in 1980. The company says it introduced conversion kits in India in 1977 to turn mechanical lorry weighbridges into electronic ones. In 1985 it introduced computerised online weighbridges.

The range covers truck weighbridges (unmanned, pit, pitless, concrete, portable and U-beam), platform, table-top, crane, animal and human scales, micro balances and standard test weights. It also covers weight indicators, tank and conveyor weighing systems, and automation: packing and pouching, bag and jumbo-bag filling, liquid filling and checkweighers. Billing machines, POS terminals, printers, currency note counters and peg measures are also sold.

The company runs cloud-based weighing, label-printing and ERP software, and offers service and maintenance, rentals and industrial automation consultation. Its site states a service response within 4 to 8 working hours. It has a corporate office in Parrys and a second office in Porur, both in Chennai.
