Hexagon describes itself as the global leader in measurement technologies. Its work spans precision measurement and positioning sensors, digital twins and 3D environments, and spatial and operational intelligence software. Its three technology domains are metrology, reality capture and positioning.

For manufacturers, its range includes coordinate measuring machines from entry-level to ultra-high accuracy, portable measuring systems, 3D laser scanners, automated measurement systems, metrology software, quality assurance and statistical process control software, and CAD/CAM and CNC simulation software. It also offers local service and support for these products.

Brands in the group include Leica Geosystems, NovAtel, Septentrio and Hexagon Robotics. Hexagon Robotics develops industrial humanoid robots. Octave became a separate public company in May 2026.
