Overview

Komatsu India Private Limited (KIPL) supplies products and services for high-value commodity sectors, including construction and mining machines, genuine parts, lubricants, attachments and product support. It works with its authorised distributor Larsen & Toubro. It runs parts distribution centres, product support and service centres, and stock depots across India.

The Chennai plant was inaugurated in 2007 and began with mining off-highway dump trucks. The Oragadam hydraulic excavator plant followed in 2015, and the 10,000th hydraulic excavator rolled out of the Chennai facility in 2019. A central parts warehouse operates at Nagpur.

The Industrial Machinery Division was established in India in 2008 to support the automobile industry and its ancillaries. It offers stamping, mechanical, servo and forging presses and large press systems. It also offers Komatsu NTC machine tools: transfer machines, machining centres, grinding machines and crankshaft processing machines. The company states that over 1,400 NTC machines are installed at Indian automotive plants and Tier 1 suppliers, with service staff in Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad and Delhi.
