It develops battery diagnostic solutions for customers along the battery value chain. These range from quality testing and lifetime prediction to condition assessment and second-life tests.

Its core technology is multi-sine rapidEIS, which records electrochemical impedance spectra in about one second. The Inspectrum series (EIS measurement devices, multiplexers and software) is aimed at laboratory and test-bench use. The Examight series is aimed at inline cell grading on production lines.

Safion also offers contacting solutions for cylindrical, pouch and prismatic cells, and stationary cell holders. Its systems are described as suitable for lithium-ion and sodium-ion cells of all formats and sizes.
