Sai Machine Tools Pvt. Ltd. (SMT) began operations in 1988 at the Sanwer Road Industrial Area, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It describes itself as the largest manufacturer of plastic processing machinery in Central India. The company has focused on international markets from the start and exports about 30% of its production.

SMT manufactures single-screw extruders and twin-screw extruders (parallel and conical). Its lines produce drip irrigation tubes, RPVC/UPVC/CPVC pipes and profiles, HDPE/LLDPE pipes and films, and PVC/PP/PE coated cables. They also produce pelletizing plants, monofilament, box strapping and PP/PE tape. The company reports 5-metre-wide LDPE/LLDPE film and tubing plants and an HDPE three-layer pipe system of 1200 mm diameter.

The company also supplies an integrated recycling system for HDPE/PPR pipe waste. It consists of an in-line shredder, conveyor, grinder and underwater pelletizing unit. The factory has CNC laser cutting, a CNC tool room, CNC sheet bending, thread milling, hard chrome plating, gas nitriding, argon welding and tungsten carbide coating.
